APPLE RECIPES

NO SUGAR APPLE PIE FILLING

This healthier apple pie filling is whipped up without any sugar or sweeteners.

Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients

  •   1 Tablespoon butter or coconut oil
  •   2 large sweet apples sliced ~1/8 inch thick
  •   dash sea salt
  •   ½ cup cold water
  •   2 teaspoons tapioca starch
  •   ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  •   cinnamon and/or pie spice to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter or oil in a medium-sized pan.
  2. Add the apple slices and salt.
  3. Saute the apples over medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until softened.
  4. In a small cup, whisk the water with the tapioca and vanilla.
  5. Once the apples have softened, add in the tapioca slurry.
  6. Raise the heat a bit, and stir the apples until thickened.
  7. Once thick, remove the pan from the heat.
  8. Stir in cinnamon and/or pie spice as desired (I use a LOT!)
  9. Enjoy!

SANGRIA MOCKTAIL

This delightfully refreshing Sangria uses chopped apples and fruit to craft a non alcoholic drink bursting with fresh and fruity flavors.

Sangria Mocktail (Non Alcoholic)

INGREDIENTS LIST

  •   grape juice (white or red) 
  •   sparkling water
  •   cranberry juice or orange juice 
  •    Ambrosia apples and assorted chopped fruit (grapes, oranges, tangerines, peaches, strawberries, blueberries)
  •   ice
  •   chopped herbs and fresh citrus slices, to garnish

NON ALCOHOLIC SANGRIA RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

Get complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.

  1. Add the grape juice, orange juice, and sparkling water and chopped fruit to a large pitcher or drink dispenser.
  2. Place the Sangria mocktail in the fridge and let it chill for a minimum of 1 hour.
  3. Remove from fridge, top with ice and garnish your drink with herbs and fruit before serving.

APPLE SUPER SALAD

This dish is perfect for lunch or dinner. Mixing in the crispness and flavor of apples makes this easy recipe even better.

Apple Super Salad

INGREDIENTS:

Dressing:

  • 3-4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced shallot (if desired)
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Ground pepper to taste

Salad:

  • 1 package (10 oz.) Mann’s Power Blend® Mix
  • 2 EverCrisp® Apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup dried, reduced sugar, cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar glazed pecans, chopped
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese (can substitute gorgonzola cheese)
  • 4 slices of non-cured cooked bacon, chopped (optional)

 

DIRECTIONS:

In a small bowl, whisk together all dressing ingredients. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the Power Blend®, apples, cranberries, pecans and cheese.

Pour dressing over the salad and toss well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

Serve on plates and top with chopped bacon if desired.
